  • With most other verbs, we make positive and negative sentences as below:
Subject Verb
I/ You/ We/ They look healthy.
He/ She/ It looks healthy.
Subject do not/ does not Base verb
I/ You/ We/ They do not (don’t) feel well.
He/ She/ It does not (doesn’t)
  • We usually add -s to the verb after he, she and it (third person singular):
Most verbs +s take → takes
work → works
Verbs ending in –s, -ch, -sh, -x and -z +es dress → dresses
catch → catches
Verbs ending in vowel (-ay, -ey, -oy, -uy) +y +s say → says
play → plays
Verbs ending in consonant +y -y +ies carry → carries
cry → cries
Verbs ending in -o +es do → does
go → goes
