The form of the tense:

  • We form positive and negative sentences with will, it doesn’t matter if the subject is singular or plural:
Subject will base verb
We will (‘ll) join the team.
will not (won’t) leave the group.
He will play the game.
She will not (won’t) buy the dress.

Exercise:

  1. My house is very dirty. I _______________ (clean) it soon.
  1. John _______________ (have) dinner with his friends later.
  1. Sally is going to a party next Saturday. She _______________ (wear) her new red dress.
  1. They ________________ (travel) to New York tomorrow morning. The flight ________________(depart) at 10am.
  1. I watched the weather forecast. It ________________(not / rain) today.
  1. I ________________ (buy)) you a piece of chocolate if you get 100 marks in the exam.

To show what we will happen in the future, we often use words or phrases like soon, tomorrow, later, the next day, the coming Saturday, etc. etc.
